The plan created a vision for the sustainable balance between economic growth and natural resource conservation. The vision behind the greenway has inspired local communities to re-frame their planning efforts to identify other open space opportunities today. Interstate 90 is now designated a National Scenic Byway, the only interstate in the country to receive such an honor.

The Greenway’s success owes much to the efforts of the members of the Greenway Board and Technical Advisory Group.
