At J.T. Atkins & Company PC, we create memorable places, places to which people want to return again and again. Our systematic approach to analysis and mapping of the natural and cultural patterns of a site results in projects that are in harmony with their setting. We have completed projects throughout Oregon, Washington, and California, and have received many awards for our work. BUILDING COMMUNITY. As landscape architects, we create links – both physical and intellectual - between the natural and built environments. Our collaborative design process creates excitement and builds community support. We assist our clients in developing a vision for their project and then refining it through interaction with decision makers. We sponsor annual events like Building a Better Central Oregon and the Deschutes River Trail Ramble to encourage others to take an active, informed role in the community.
SUSTAINABLE DESIGN. We are committed to serving as catalysts for sustainable design. In every project we take on, we use our understanding of natural systems to determine the best fit between the project and the site. We ask questions like, “How can we reduce water demand?” “What plant materials will grow well here with minimal environmental impact?” and “Where can we connect streets, parks, and paths to encourage and reduce traffic congestion?” We collaborate with environmental groups like the Deschutes Basin Land Trust and the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council to preserve and restore habitat.
